Foot Pain Management For The End Of A Diligent Day

Many people deal with foot pain in their lives. Foot pain management is pretty simple and gives you the perfect opportunity to relax. Standing and walking all day can leave you with painful aches. Relieving the pain can prove much more difficult than preventing the pain.

Some days you cannot help being on your feet all day long. So preventing the pain isn’t an option on those days. These days you have to worry about relieving your achy feet.

Relief

Foot Massage- A good massage can sooth as well as help with blood flow.

Ease the ache with a hot foot soak – Relaxing while soaking your feet will help ease your discomfort. Using an herbal mix or Epsom salt are great ways to improve the relaxing effect as well as help to melt your pain away. Epsom salt will reduce swelling as well as help you rid the toxins in your poor feet.

Put your feet up – One of the easiest ways to make your feet more comfortable is to simply lay back and elevate your feet.

Natural oil rub – Rubbing your feet with menthol essential oil provides you with cooling relief. Eucalyptus and camphor have similar effects as the menthol. Make sure you use essential oils and do not get the oils in your eyes. Many foot rubs on the market contain these ingredients.

Cold compress – Reduce swelling with ice.

Prevention

Comfortable and supportive shoes – A pair of good quality shoes can prevent your foot pain from even starting. There is no one pair of shoes that works for everyone. The biggest downfall to finding the right pair for you is that it takes trial and error. Get advice from people you know that spend a lot of time on their feet. You should do your shoe shopping after being on your feet for awhile, because your feet expand over time. Shopping in the afternoon will allow you to make sure your shoes still fit once they have widened.

Use insoles- Adding insole in your shoes is an effective way to add comfort to your shoes. Insoles can give you extra support that is needed to avoid painful aches.

Sitting and keep from straining your feet as much as you can is a good way to treat and prevent aches. Lessening movement when you can will help, though there are days this is not possible. If you have a job where it is necessary for you to spend the day standing, massage your feet when you have time.

There are times when you cannot treat the problem yourself and you should contact a medical professional. Some examples are sudden severe pain, if the pain began after an injury, redness and swelling of the joint, an open sore, or a fever. If the pain doesn’t ease after one or two weeks of self treating, you should also consult a doctor.

These tips should be taken with care and common sense. Foot pain management can be easily done. If the pain doesn’t ease after a week or two you should consider seeking medical treatment.
